Untitled Mind at Nuit Blanche - Art All Night DC 2013

“Untitled Mind” is a multilayered mapped projection design conceived as a short film video dance piece that explores the otherness in the self, focusing in the idea of the mirrored one, the creative ability, the dream, the unconscious mind.
Directed and filmed by Laia Cabrera, the piece is based on an original idea by Catherine Correa in collaboration with awarded choreographer Alexandre Proia. The piece features two actors/dancers Catherine Correa and Jonathan Royse Windham with production design and visual effects by Isabelle Duverger, music by Javier Moreno Sanchez, sound design by Gisella-Fulla Silvestre and Arooj Aftab, assistant production by Florencia Minniti.
The piece is a multimedia video and sound installation inspired by Emma Jung’s notion of the “Amandus”: “The Amandus lures the girl into his house, gives her wine to drink and afterwards takes her into the underground (psyche) to kill her. As he prepares himself for this, a sort of intoxication overcomes the girl. In a sudden impulse of love, she embraces the murderer, who is immediately robbed of his power and dissolves after promising to stand by her side in the future as a helpful spirit.” Both rest in harmony in the bed of the unconscious mind.

Through a carefully crafted imaginary, the play depict some of the ways that today's culture - celebrity-obsessed to an unprecedented degree - and the preponderance of certain primal behaviors within that culture, may inform the audience's interpretation of Arrabal's premise.

PIKOLINOS POP UP STORE IN NYC, a 2-floor video mapping installation
On a landmark building at 32 Gansevoort street, the Spanish shoe brand PIKOLINOS has opened its doors to their first store in USA, designed by the multidisciplinary NY-based branding studio MERRY+VALENZUELA. The team formed by the founders of the company Laura Valenzuela and Bea Merry, the Interior Designer Alex Perinat, and Video Artists and Installation Maker Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger, has created a wonderful mediterranean-infused space in the heart of the Meatpacking District.
Upstairs a video installation based on the three collections: the Maasai collection, the Colors collection and the fantastic Spring/Summer shoe and bag collection. Downstairs in the store cellar, check out the "Maasai Lab": video installations highlighting Maasai culture and the company’s commitment to cutting-edge technology, innovation, continuous evolution and a forward-looking vision.
The "Maasai Lab in the Cellar" was conceived as a sensorial and multimedia experience for all audiences to discover the Maasai culture and promote creativity. Through sounds, video, textiles, objects and interaction, you will be able to explore, understand, feel and experience the landscapes of Kenya, the beauty of its fashion, the work of these women and the significant involvement of Pikolinos with the non profit ADCAM, which allows the Maasai women to sustain their entire community.

Prologue is a tribute to French philosopher, mystic, and social activist Simone Weil (1909- 1943). Simone Weil, described by Albert Camus as “the only great spirit of our times” and by Susan Sontag as “one of the most uncompromising and troubling witnesses to the modern travail of the spirit.” Weil had an extraordinary capacity to dwell within highly philosophical and metaphysical thought, while still emphasizing the importance of embodied experience. She realized that in order to theorize about the working-class, one had to experience their reality firsthand. Thus, despite her poor health conditions, she left her teaching position to work in a factory. Weil’s passionate nature also drove her to participate in many of the political affairs of her time. She confronted Trotsky, fought in the Spanish Civil war, participated in the French Resistance… But, even more unusual for a leftist intellectual of her time, Weil’s interests increasingly focused on religion and mysticism.
Most of Simone Weil’s writings are annotations of thoughts following her own mental associations, thus reading them is like entering directly into Weil’s stream of consciousness. Inspired by her writings, Prologue is a composition of moments – snapshots into Weil’s life and thought. It is an invitation to enter her world from a personal and sensorial experience. Simultaneously, as an actor prepares to interpret Simone Weil, Prologue reflects on the mystical and artistic processes, and the important role of the invisible in the construction of meaning.

Landscapes of the Soul is the Collaboration between composer and multi-instrumentalist Nacho Arimany and Video-Artists Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger in a poetic journey through Cross-cultural Sounds, Jazz and Video-Art.
By using an array of musical traditions from around the world, composer and multi-instrumentalist Nacho Arimany offers a poetic expression that engages the audience in experiencing free interaction between different artistic disciplines with pianist Robert Rodriguez and bassist Michael O’Brien, in conjunction with Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger’s richly evocative Video-Art. The incorporation of Jazz , Video-Art and Live Digital Drawing opens the space for tradition to be transformed and actualized by a new experience of collective creation. The result is a poetic and cinematic journey that envelops the viewer, revealing both surprising and explosive shapes of creation.
